Area Wineries

Amador County is home to a total of 42 wineries, some of which are located just minutes from historic downtown Sutter Creek. Visit the Sierra Ridge Winery and sample their collection of award-winning wines while taking in the beautiful scenery. Travel less than a mile down the road and you’ll feel like you’ve been transported to Northern Italy when you visit Avio Vineyards and Carriage House. Venture a few miles down historic Highway 49 to Terra d’ Oro and you won’t be disappointed. As the first winery in Amador County to produce wine since the end of Prohibition, you can taste over 150 years of history in the making.

Something for Beer Lovers, Too

Sutter Creek’s beer scene is still up and coming, with breweries starting to pop up in nearby cities around Amador County. Venture over to the neighboring city of Plymouth and enjoy the unique tastes of Amador Brewing Company. Visit their tasting room off Highway 49—open Friday-Sunday only—and try a flight of their delicious craft brews, like the Night Hike porter or a German Altbier. Or if you’d rather stay close to home, just walk 2 minutes from Hotel Sutter on Main Street and visit Sutter Creek Provisions, where they always have a variety of local beers on tap from breweries around Northern California, including Amador Brewing Company.
